Description
Heh, I took a much-needed break from outlining and colouring to throw this together. I like these little things where I can look back and stare in shock/contemplate how I have improved throughout the year. c:
I'm actually really surprised at how much my artwork has changed this year.
Revelations, comparing now to then:
January - No more icky cell-shading, where I'm shading randomly and there isn't really a very good idea of light sources and such. Less lazy doing lineart and fewer coloured sketches.
February - Fewer blurred lines, more precise, clear ones.
March - No more gigantic head-eye-wings on Lyreia (that was a mistake, I swear!)
April [1 & 2] - Um... animating avatars is fun? xD
May - Lineless CGs look much smoother, and less like paper cut-outs with shading stuck onto them.
June - Soft-shading with better technique (there's actually a proper light source now!) and is also much darker and more dramatic.
July - I'm so used to seeing this picture now.
(it's been both of our DPs since I first drew it) xD;
August - Rain effects aren't that hard. Also, I can make use of textures!
September - Reference pictures are very helpful for creatures you have never drawn before.
October - I can paint an ocean? O:
November - Better colour choice. More vivid and definitely more appealing to the eye. ;b (well really, this started in September, but it's definitely more evident here)
December - I work a lot faster (and yet, as I say this, I have nothing to put here yet). XD
Hoooray for changes!
