Koi Dragon

Eh... just a random doodle I did in class today.
The assignment we had to do was rather sad (we don't have a proper teacher at the moment), so I spent my time drawing this in class rather than actually... do... the assignment...

Hey, I could finish the work I was supposed to do in under five minutes at home, anyway. xD;

So uh, yeah, the lines/colouring were intentionally supposed to be fuzzier than usual; that's because I drew this in Fireworks (no Photoshop at school -sad-), and I was having fun playing around with the Calligraphy > Bamboo brush. x3

I was initially going to make it look like a brush painting, but drawing with the mouse was really tedious and boring, so I didn't.

The koi-pattern wasn't really supposed to be there. I was going to colour the dragon a typical Asian red-gold kind of thing, but colouring the ENTIRE dragon's body with a mouse was really asdfghjkl;
...so I undid all the colouring I attempted to do. Apparently, I started off colouring on the dragon's forehead. And then I went, "Hey, lol, it sort of looks like some of those koi at the pet store..." So I added black spots. I added some orange in too, but the dragon looked overdone so I just deleted that part.

...so now the dragon has a Tancho Sanke koi pattern. xD;

Oh, and I did the lines using the infamous pen tool. What I found out, though, is that the pen tool is incredibly tricky to make good curves with... and I was rushing. So I didn't bother, hence why the dragon may look a bit, er... sharp-edged at some places.

Shading was done completely by mouse at the end. It was bothering me, though, because apparently colouring overtop somewhere I already coloured with the Bamboo brush made the grey turn to yellow. O.O
I mean, what's with that? O_o

I ended up recolouring over parts of the grey afterwards.

And uh, the swirlies in the "background" (if you can even call that a background), were done using the awesome shape-creating tool that I saw the guy beside me using. ;3
Swirlies are awesome.

...also, I felt that some blue would complement the other colours in this picture. x)

Anyway, I did this in a very short time, and didn't bother trying to make it look that great. I gave up trying to make the lines tapered at the ends pretty fast. ;X
...hence this isn't my best piece of artwork in the world.

Added the watermark and border when I got back. n_n;

I mostly just uploaded it so that I can say I've been uploading, because obviously, I haven't. xD;
